Bunions and my beautiful feet

Like many women, my first thing to do every morning was look in the mirror to assess my body. No matter how other body parts failed my scrutiny, I always looked at my feet last - because they were perfect! They carried me everywhere, and despite the load, they looked beautiful. No calluses, corns, blisters or ugly veins, not to mention hammertoes. I dreamt that I might become a foot model.

I did everything right to keep my feet healthy and pretty. I wore flat (but attractive)
shoes, had pedicures and my favorite: many foot massages & foot reflexology sessions.
To my surprise, despite all the care and attention, my feet changed when I turned 40. I developed a "bump" on the side of my feet and needed larger shoes. As a matter of fact, my shoe size seemed to continually increase, as did the bump. It didn't bother me at first, but when the balls of my feet started to hurt I knew I was in trouble. Hiking, one my favorite hobbies, became a painful event.
Even worse, one of the most painful results of the "bump" was - I had to give away the sexy and attractive shoes that I collected over the years, and the lack of exercise due to the foot pain led to even more middle age weight gain. My dream of becoming a model, even a foot model disappeared!
I felt I was on a downward spiral. I needed help - and I got it!
Out of the blue an old friend from Munich called and asked if I would introduce a new product from Germany to the U.S. market. I was interested. The new product was a patented and innovative splint that corrects the mal-positioning of the big toe/bunion or in medical terms, Hallux Valgus. After several weeks of research I found out that the "bump" on my feet was a bunion.
For several weeks the splint became my best friend - I wore it every night and a few hours during the day. And it paid off - the splint worked! I was able to start hiking and exercising again, free of pain!
I was so impressed with the splint that I became president of Alpha Orthotics Corp., and started to sell and distribute these German-engineered innovative orthotic products, beginning with Bunion Aid - the first hinged splint designed to correct painful bunions.
Maybe, my dream of becoming a foot model will come true after all!
